Happy Friday! Everyone ready to start their Memorial Day weekend? Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow morning and Monday. Oh well, it’s not like I have much planned anyways.
Now on to this weeks Friday Favorites!
- Wes’ Vacation Days
All this week Wes had off work. I have to say, I’ve enjoyed the extra 15 minutes I get not having to worry about getting Chooch to my parents house. I also enjoy not having to pick him up from daycare. I have been able to come straight home to see my guys and that’s been pretty nice. Although, I wish it was the other way around and I was the one home with J all week. I have been loving getting pictures of them having fun at the park!
- New Reads
I don’t have much time to read recently, let alone scroll through a billion books and read a billion blurbs. So when a mom in one of my Facebook groups or one a follow on Instagram mentions a new book they are loving I go and check it out!
This book is called “Sh*tty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us.” Yep and so far it’s pretty entertaining. If you want a book about motherhood that’s straightforward and pretty inappropriate this is for you. You’ll love it.
- One Week Down
We made it a week with the cast. Not going to lie, it hasn’t always been easy. It’s been a week of being kicked in the face, not sleeping and general frustrations. Jameson has been a little off balance but he seems to be getting the hang of things. Only two more weeks!
- Moments of Silence
We had a long evening of just trying to GET chooch to sleep! Wes and I tried everything I’m pretty sure- he’s obviously in the refusal stage now. Wes walked him, I walked him, tried to nurse him, we let him play. Most of the time he fake cried while looking up at me every 30 seconds-those are the moments when being a mind reader would really come in handy.
Finally, after about an hour and 45 minutes of trying, I finally got this kid to sleep! That moment when I finally get the chance to turn the TV off and climb into bed-that silence is the best after a long day. That silence is therapeutic, it’s cleansing and I enjoy it immensely. It gives me time to clear my head and relax.
- Recipes
This time, we’re going Breakfast. I’ve been trying some overnight oats recipes here recently and I’m excited about this new flavor! I’m even bringing the second serving for lunch. I love the idea of these, it gives me a few extra minutes in the morning not trying to fuss with making a good breakfast.
Update: this flavor isn’t my favorite, I taste too much of the plain Greek yogurt, it’s a little tart. A little extra honey though and it definitely perked it up. My favorite was peanut butter and banana-that had great flavor!
- Goofy Selfies
Not talking about ugly selfies or stuff like that. I mean goofy selfies with Jameson. Kid loves the camera phone and FaceTime so when I turn the camera on us, he hams it up! Even throws in some kisses.
Well, that’s all I have for you today! We hope everyone has a good holiday weekend! Remember to take a minute to remember the fallen-the heroes who made this life possible!
